This year, the 4th of July felt both like just another day and a very important day.
It was the 1st Fourth where same-sex marriages were federally recognized.
I spent the day at a BBQ with friends and V, and then V & I enjoyed a local fireworks show with my parents, brother, and sister.
There was a beautiful breeze in the air, and the unusually cool summer night’s air was warmed with the heat of the perfection of the moment. In that moment, everything was perfect.
Happy Fourth of July, albeit a day late.
