It’s officially summer, which means SUN! FREE TIME! HOT DAYS! ICE CREAM! LAZINESS!
I think this is the first time in years that I’ve actually enjoyed all of the above. (Well, except maybe ice cream.) I started my summer job as a nanny to two wonderful kids this week, and I’ve proudly taken on the title of “temporary soccer mom.” The kids have been at soccer camp all week, and I’ve been watching their practices and games, driving back and forth, completing puzzle books to kill time while they work on skill drills, and actually embracing “busy work.” I’ve set up post-it signs in my car and on my body to designate “no fighting zones.”
I feel about 15 years older than I actually am.
Even Taylor of My Pleonastic Life thinks I’m turning into a soccer mom.
I’m embracing my summer lazies when I’m not working. I’ve flip-flopped around a pool. I’ve watched chick flicks on Netflix with my sister. I even baked muffins this morning because I didn’t feel like driving to the store to get some. (My logic is impeccable.)
I have a case of the summer lazies… and I’m going to embrace every minute of them. (Which might actually explain my lack of blogging lately…)
Max the Dog has also given up and joined me in my case of the Summer Lazies.
