We are never ever getting back together.

I have an undeniable crush on Taylor Swift. I used to just have a crush on her music, but after seeing her in concert last summer, I started crushing on her. (I think it’s the one and only celebrity crush my brother & I have shared.)

Last summer I was THIS CLOSE to Taylor. It was the cheesiest, most amazing concert ever.

Taylor Swift had a special announcement the other night, but I was at a bar and didn’t hear it live. Imagine my excitement to learn that not only had she dropped a new song, but that she has a new album coming out on October 22nd AND IT’S NAMED AFTER ME! (It’s called “Red.”)

I immediately googled the song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” listened to it, and was blown away by how terrible, pop-y, and high school-ish it was.

Then I listened to it again tonight when it came on the radio, and, like “Call Me Maybe,” it infected my ears and I fell in love with it.

I have such a weird relationship with T-Swizzle.

At least her concert made my dog have 15 seconds of fame. Yes, he is a wizard.

The lyrics to her new song go:

I remember when we broke up the first time
Seeing this is it, I’ve had enough, ’cause like
We haven’t seen each other in a month
When you, said you, needed space, what?
Then you come around again and say
Baby, I miss you and I swear I’m gonna change
Trust me, remember how that lasted for a day
I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you

Oooh we called it off again last night
But Oooh, this time I’m telling you, I’m telling you
We are never ever ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Like ever…

I’m really gonna miss you picking fights
And me, falling for a screaming that I’m right
And you, will hide away and find your piece of mine with some indie record that’s much cooler than mine

Oooh you called me up again tonight
But Oooh, this time I’m telling you, I’m telling you
We are never ever ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

I used to think, that we, were forever ever ever
And I used to say never say never
Huh, he calls me up and he’s like, I still love you
And i’m like, i’m just, I mean this is exhausting, you know
We are never getting back together, like ever

We are never ever ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

We, oooh, oooh, not back together, we
Oh, getting back together

You go talk to your friends talk
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

It’s funny because, after listening to it again a few times, I fell in love with the song because of how annoyingly catchy it is… and it’s totally going to turn into a lesbian anthem. I’M CALLING IT NOW. Lesbians break up and get back together countless times for reasons nobody really knows. The lyrics are repetitive, annoying, text-speak, and slightly immature, but I still love it because of how much fun I’m going to have singing this in the shower. Plus, ya know, we’ve all been in That Relationship. Taylor Swift really manages to write songs for every relationship possible.

Plus, you know, I bet there’ll be a really cheesy music video to it.

I can’t wait until her “Red” tour. I’m making Poefy go with me.

Who are you never ever getting back together with?

For me, I think it currently has to be glitter eyeshadow. I’m allergic to it, and my eyelids are currently swollen because I wore some today. I look like a muppet.

For me its peanuts, because like all the most extreme break-ups, I still love them, but they hate me and want to kill me!
